Breyer Sjoerd Champion Friesian Stallion

It is the goal of every stallion owner to create a legacy, and 2005 Friesian Sjoerd has done just that for owner Xena Vimercati of Three Day Ranch. The only Friesian stallion to be named the USEF Horse of the Year, Sjoerd has been smashing records ever since he entered the show ring. While his career began with showing in hand and saddle seat, he ultimately took home a world champion title in every discipline he was eligible to compete in. What makes this feat even more incredible is that he did so while being shown by youths and amateurs!

To date, he and his offspring have won more USEF and International Friesian Show Horse Association (IFSHA) champion titles than any other Friesian stallion and their offspring. Sjoerd was also the first Friesian stallion to be named champion in both Baroque and Sport Horse stallion in hand, and the first to be ranked #1 in the USA while his offspring concurrently held the #1 partbred ranking.

Sjoerd retired in 2015 with 74 world champion titles and 130 regional champion titles. Incredibly, he’s still ranked #1 with over 19,000 career points.
